Why Join the Kent Jaycees?

Deep Community Impact (and it’s visible)

The Kent Jaycees are known for hands-on, hyper-local service projects. Young professionals can see the direct impact of their work—whether it’s supporting families in need, organizing community events, or strengthening local resources.

Leadership Opportunities You Can Actually Use

Members don’t just sit on committees—they run projects, manage budgets, coordinate volunteers, speak publicly, and collaborate with local leaders. This gives young professionals resume-ready leadership skills in a low-pressure, supportive environment.

A Strong Network (That Doesn’t Feel Like a Stuffy Networking Event)

Kent Jaycees meetings, socials, and service events create natural bonding opportunities. It’s networking, but it feels like building friendships—especially valuable for people new to the Kent/Portage area or wanting to expand their circle beyond work.

A Welcoming, Down-to-Earth Culture

The Kent chapter is known for being friendly, inclusive, and genuinely community-minded. There’s no pressure to be perfect or experienced—just to show up and care.

The Chance to Shape Kent’s Future

Members often collaborate with city leaders, local businesses, and other civic groups. Joining means having a real voice in local change and development—something many young professionals crave.
